Street Photography: London – part 1

By

Last week I was in London after a few years away from the city. I missed it a lot and as soon as I arrived in Paddington I felt at home. I love London and spending a few days there was great to top-up my batteries. Enjoy my pictures!

Once again, my Fuji X100 has been a precious companion for my street photography. Small, silent, almost invisible. It makes me the perfect tourist, a great way no to scare people off when trying to take pictures of them.

Always remember to drink a lot of water. Dehydration is one of your worst enemies!

Distance is key. If you have a bulky DLSR people tend to be scared of you. If you have a smaller camera, you can get closer to people without being noticed. Always remember to smile and nobody will complain.

It’s also true that when there is almost no light, a D600 with a 1.4 lens is necessary to pull out a decent shot.

If the sun is shining and you feel really hot, remember to remove a few layers of clothing and cool down!
